Stashly

Version 2026.08 · Updated 1 August 2026

Host Agreement

The agreement between a host and Stashly, accepted when you list a space.

The arrangement

You grant Stashly a licence to sub-license your space to renters for storage or parking. Stashly is the counterparty to each renter, not your agent. This is a licence, not a lease or tenancy.

Your responsibilities

You confirm you have the legal right to license the space, including any landlord, lease, mortgage, condo, or insurer permission required. If you rent your home or it is subject to a lease or mortgage, sub-licensing may not be permitted, and that is yours to check.

You will describe the space accurately, keep it safe and available for each booking, and comply with all laws, bylaws, and permits.

Payouts and defaults

Listing is free and you keep 100% of the rent. Stashly pays you once your identity is verified and payout details are set up. Stashly does not guarantee your rental income: if a renter stops paying, we do not continue to pay your rent.

If a booking goes wrong, Stashly serves the notices and arranges for the goods to be removed to a licensed storage facility, funding that clearance up to CAD 2,000 on top of the renter's deposit. You never have to deal with the renter, store their goods, or pay to have them shifted. You keep the rent already collected and can rent the space out again.

The renter's seven-day cancellation right

Every renter who books online has seven days, from receiving their copy of the agreement, to cancel for any reason under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002. This right is set by statute. Neither you nor Stashly can shorten or refuse it, and no notice period or minimum term applies to it.

If a renter cancels this way, Stashly refunds them everything they paid. Where we have already paid you for that first charge, we will reverse that one payout from your payout account, and we will email you to say so. This applies only to the booking that was cancelled: rent you have been paid on any other booking, or on a later month of the same booking, is never touched.

Your space goes straight back on Stashly and is open for new bookings immediately.

These terms are written in plain English on purpose. They are the terms that apply to bookings made on Stashly today. If we change them, anyone with a live booking keeps the version they agreed to.
