A marked bay on my working commercial yard off Kipling, south of the Queensway. Crushed asphalt over hardcore, graded so it drains, and the bay is 16ft wide by 45ft so a tandem straight truck or a day cab and short trailer sits in it without hanging over the line.

The yard is fenced, gated and lit overnight, with cameras on the gate and the back fence. No residential neighbours, so early starts and reefer units are not a problem.

Turning circle is fine for a 53ft unit if you swing wide at the north end. Fair warning, in a hard freeze the surface ruts up and I do not plough until mid morning.

Each unit is rented separately and is yours alone, nobody else has a key to your space. You can book more than one if you need the room.

Security

The single thing most people want to know before leaving their things somewhere.

  • CCTV
  • Gated site
  • No alarm
  • Security lighting
  • Someone on site daily
  • Coded gate with fob entry

Getting in

24/7 self-access

You get your own gate fob and a copy of the yard code. Come and go any hour, no need to tell me. Gate must be pulled shut behind you at night.

  • Vehicles up to 40ft
  • 18ft headroom at the door
  • Crushed asphalt over compacted hardcore surface
  • Ground floor, no steps

Overhead clearance at the gate is 18ft, so no issue for a box truck with a roof unit. A 53ft tractor and trailer will get in but needs a wide swing at the north end. No shore power on the bay itself, though there is a 15A outlet on the office wall about 40ft away if you need a block heater.

What this space offers

  • Can get damp

  • Yours alone
  • Unheated

How it works

  1. Book it now

No waiting around. Pick your start date, pay the first month, and the space is yours.

  2. Get your access details

Codes, keys and directions land in your inbox as soon as the booking is confirmed. The full address is only shared at that point.

  3. Move your things in

Take a few photos when you arrive, it takes a minute and settles any question later about what was there.

  4. Pay monthly, leave when you like

Rent goes out on the same day each month. Give 30 days' notice whenever you're ready to move out.

I keep a 26ft box truck here and the fob access means I can pull in at 4am without bothering anyone. Gate has never once been left open by anyone else in the yard.

Solid yard and Nathaniel is easy to deal with. The surface did get badly rutted after the January thaw and I had to pick my way in for about a week.

Been parking a tractor unit here since the autumn. Lighting is genuinely good at night and there are no residents to complain when the reefer runs.

I run a small plant hire business out of this yard and we simply do not use all the bays any more. Renting them to owner drivers keeps the place busy and covers the fencing bill.
